indoors - Sculpture
What I love about these sculptures and this technique is that by using broken tiles (as opposed to the perfect squares of traditional mosaic) it captures the idea of something both being broken and being put back together at the same time. It's such an interesting duality - simultaneously pessimistic and hopeful.
A lot of the sculptures are inspired by life in America but they all have their individual stories. Some pieces condemn and some celebrate but which do what changes from day to day. I believe that comes from the combination of the subject matter and the technique itself.
